Visiting Pattaya Sex District on a Budget

January 16th, 2010

If you’re ever in Bangkok’s sex district on a budget and consider things there as expensive then head on over to Pattaya. When it comes to sleeping, eating and meeting ladies of the night, Pattaya is definitely a more affordable place for tourists on a shoe string budget.

Cheapest Way to Get to Pattaya

Pattaya is easy to get to. In Bangkok, head over to Eastern Terminal bus station in Ekkamai. A fare cost 113 baht and buses depart every 30 – 40 minutes starting at 5am to 11pm. The bus from Bangkok will drop you off at the Pattaya bus terminal and from there on you’ll find plenty of taxis to take you to where ever you’re staying at. This is the cheapest way. A taxi will cost you around B2,000.

Cheap places to find ladies of the night

Men come from all over the world to meet ladies in Pattaya. You can meet them in go go bars. But you have to buy overpriced drinks for yourself and the bar girl. Then you have to pay a bar fine before you can take her back to your hotel. Total those all together and you’re already paying 800 baht. But that’s not all, you still have to pay the lady for her time to roll in bed with you. For short time (1 hour) it’s 1,500 baht. Long time (overnight) it’s around 2,500 baht to 5,000 baht depending on the time of night or how good looking she is. So what’s your best option?

Take a stroll through Walking Street which leads into Beach road. These streets are easy to find. They run along Pattaya beach. You’ll find Thai freelancers all along these places, standing around either in groups or alone. You’ll also find ladyboys scattered around there too. Best thing of all it’s free to watch these girls and you won’t have to buy a beer like in a go go bar. And even if you want one, just head over to a 7 Eleven store and pick yourself up a 2 liter Heineken beer for 45 baht.

And when you find one you like you won’t even have to pay a bar fine which can cost 500 baht.

Most Thai freelancers charge around 1,000 baht for short time and around 3,000 baht to 4,000 baht for long time. But if you’re not too picky on looks you can convince a freelancer to go with you for 400 baht for short time.

Cheap Hotels to Stay in Pattaya

There are many cheap budget hotels in Pattaya that are right in the sex district. You’ll find many for around 500 baht per night for a basic room. But it’s really important that you stay in a hotel that has a guest friendly policy. This just means the hotel doesn’t have a policy of charging their guests a fee for taking a lady back to their rooms. A non-guest friendly hotel would typically charge you 300 baht to 500 baht.

Staying in a guest friendly hotel is key to saving money and makes total sense. It’s a better alternative to taking a bar girl or freelancer to a short time hotel. A room there will cost you 300 baht for the hour. So why pay extra when your own hotel room is perfectly fine for what you’ve come to Pattaya to do.

Cheap eats in Pattaya

Who doesn’t like a breakfast buffet? The Lek Hotel on Pattaya 2nd Road between soi 12 and soi 13 offers a breakfast buffet for 95 baht. You don’t have to be a hotel guest. It starts at 7am and ends at 1pm (yes 1pm, it’s not a mistake). Dinner is 160 baht and starts at 6pm to 10:30pm. Eating at the Lek Hotel is very popular and the food is decent with plenty of Thai and international cuisine.

And of course there are plenty of street side restaurants with plates of chicken and rice for only 30 baht or barbecue chicken or pork skewers for 10 baht to keep your belly full.

Pattaya is certainly a dream come true for budget travelers and if you know where to stay, eat and have fun, the money in your bank account can really go a long way.

Pattaya Guest Friendly Hotels – Budget Accommodations Under 1000 Baht

January 15th, 2010

Pattaya’s red light district is an ideal getaway destination for men on a tight budget. Compared to Bangkok, Pattaya is cheaper for eating and playing in the red light districts. But the real true value are the budget girl friendly hotels located throughout the area. A girl friendly hotel won’t charge their guests a fee for taking a lady back to their own rooms. A hotel without this policy will charge you 300 baht.

Most travelers visiting Pattaya choose to stay in a cheaper hotel, especially for a short period of time. Now there are plenty of cheap places. However, these hotels may not be in the best condition. But these hotel properties are still very popular especially when the room rate is just 500 baht per night, which usually includes a free simple breakfast.

Are there any cheaper places with equal quality rooms? The answer is yes. But the downside is most good quality budget hotels in Pattaya don’t have websites to book rooms in advance. And trust me, booking a room in advance is essential for better deals and to make sure you have a place to stay when you arrive. This is especially true for high season (October to early March). All of the hotels mentioned here are right in Pattaya’s red light districts with easy access to go go bars, beer bars and massage parlors.

Some of the budget accommodations recommended in this article are perfect for a few days and if you want to stay longer you’ll find a few names of hotels perfect for that too. Though it will cost higher but it’s totally worth it.

For a cheap place to stay that won’t charge you a fee for taking a lady to your room check out the Sawasdee hotel groups. One of their hotels is near the beach and it’s called Sawasdee Sea View. A standard room there cost 535 baht (low season) and includes a simple breakfast. It has the most mixed reviews but it’s really popular with seasoned visitors in Pattaya.

There’s a slightly cheaper place called Sawasdee Sabai Hotel which has basic rooms for 450 baht and also includes a cheap breakfast. This hotel has lots of returning guests, not because the quality of the rooms are good (it’s not) but because it’s extremely affordable. I recommend staying here only if you’re here to bring bar girls and freelancers back to your rooms and a short term stay.

If you’re looking to stay in Pattaya for a longer period of time I recommend Sunshine Hotel & Residence. Their standard rooms cost 900 baht (low season) with a buffet breakfast. It’s not near the beach (though there’s 2 swimming pools) but it’s close to many go go bars and freelance pick up spots. It’s definitely a busy area with lots to do for single male travelers.

Eastiny Seven Hotel cost around 950 baht (low season) per night with buffet breakfast included. It is also located in a very busy part of Pattaya’s red light district. The rooms at Eastiny are decent size and there is a good pool to relax in as well. This is very clean hotel popular with experienced visitors to Pattaya looking to stay around for awhile.

To recap, all of the hotels mentioned here are guest friendly.  Which means you can take a bar girl, ladyboy or gay back to your room without getting hit with an extra charge. Which in turn defeats the purpose of traveling on a budget. So most of these hotels are very popular and should be booked in advance. And if you can’t book a room, don’t worry, there are plenty more budget hotels in Pattaya that are guest friendly.

For even more budget hotels visit Pattaya Budget Girl Friendly Hotels close to red light districts. Also be sure to visit Pattaya Nightlife Guide for more information about the wild and popular red light district in Pattaya.

Majestic Suites Bangkok Hotel Review – Is This Guest Friendly Hotel Worth Staying?

August 30th, 2009

The Majestic Suites hotel in Bangkok is one of the most well known guest friendly hotels in the Nana district. It’s location makes it one of the best strategic hotels for visiting one of Bangkok’s infamous red light hot spots throughout Nana.

Quality:

It’s not the biggest hotel in the area so the rooms are quite small. There are 3 room types available; Studio, Superior and Deluxe. If you’re claustrophobic it may be a good idea to avoid a studio room. The superior and deluxe are just a bit bigger but not too much. Otherwise the rooms at the Majestic are quite comfortable and the property is well maintained for a hotel that’s been through some years.

Value:

Room rates start at 1295 Baht for a studio and usually includes a free breakfast. That in my opinion is an excellent rate considering you’re right in the heart of Bangkok. Single male travelers would particularly enjoy Majestic Suites because there is a popular adult male entertainment center called  Nana Entertainment Plaza, a popular 3 floor building jam full of go go bars. There are also many small bars and pubs near this hotel. And just a few blocks over are some really very international clubs. But the biggest bonus is you get access to a tiny pool and fitness center at their much more expensive sister property Majestic Grande, just a 5 minute walk away. There’s even free wireless Internet access throughout the hotel. Not bad at all for 1295 Baht a night.

Location:

Majestic Suites is located near the always busy intersection of Sukhumvit and Nana. Running right above Sukhumvit road is the BTS Sky Train and there is a station just a 5 minute walk from the entrance. There are many restaurants and bars to keep you full and drunk in the surrounding area and they are pack especially at night time. This hotel is in a red light district too so as a man you won’t be bored at all. Majestic Suites is also a guest friendly hotel, which means they wont charge you a fee for taking a companion back to your room.

Conclusion:

There are a lot of plus points for staying at the Majestic Suites. Especially if you’re a man looking to party every night. So it’s not an ideal place to stay if you want to take your wife and kids on a holiday in Bangkok. There are many prostitutes that hang around Sukhumvit so the Majestic is definitely not a family friendly hotel.

Fantastic hotel great for families affordable rates 5 star service and rooms

June 19th, 2009

FANTASTIC HOTEL. The Sun Hill was my first stop in Thailand and was the best beginning. The women at the front desk are so sweet, smiling, cordial, helpful and speak excellent English. They anticipated my requests and helped in arranging transportation, calling to confirm my day trips, anything I needed. The owner is readily on site & available.

The hotel is neat, clean, rooms are as spacious and appointed as rooms costing 4-5 times more. It is a 150 Baht taxi ride ($5.-USD) to Patong town & beach, takes 5-10 minutes.

The breakfast orange juice is fresh sqeezed and the sweetest juice I have every tasted, The restaurant is delicious, cheap, and they will personalize anything you want.

The downsides? The pool is small. It’s a little “out of town” so you really can’t walk to the beach or town. But considering the cost savings,it’s well worth it!

As I traveled on thru Thailand, the other hotels were big, impersonal, functional. The Sun Hill made you feel at home. Can’t say enough nice things, and at about $55 USD a night, in a resort town, cannot be beat!!!

Patong Beach is the center of all tourist oriented nightlife on Phuket, Thailand. There, located within a radius of half a kilometer around Soi Bangla, are over 150 bars, pubs, discos and ago go bars. The pubs, bars and ago go bars of Patong Beach are the most popular nighttime destinations on the island. They give the town its unique flavor of a lively, fun place until long after the sun goes down.

Patong Beach features some great discos too. Two of them, the Banana Disco and the Shark Club, are also located at Soi Bangla. Another one, the Safari Pub, is on the hill towards Kata Beach.

Another option are the Thai-style “coffee shops” – nightclubs where ladies in fancy dresses take turns getting up to sing Thai songs while customers eat and drink and, occasionally, entice singers to join them at their tables. Later at night there are sometimes farcical skits on stage and other types of entertainment.

I’m a owner of online businesses around the globe which means I have to travel a lot to get new inspirations and share my experiences with other people.
