Bangkok Hotels – How to Find the Best Hotel Deals

January 25th, 2010

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Finding hotel deals in Bangkok Thailand is much easier these days, especially through the convienece of the Internet. It’s easier to search for budget rooms to hostels and even landing yourself a great deal on luxury hotels in Bangkok. And you’ll save much more money rather then going through a travel agent. But there are so many hotel reservation companies out on the Internet and finding the right one can be quite confusing.

When it comes to searching for hard to find hotel deals in Bangkok we go for the usual suspects like Hotels.com, Priceline.com, Travelocity.com and sorts of other major advertised Internet travel agencies. Because it’s easy and everyone knows about them.

But can they provide the best hotel rates?

It never hurts to check their websites. However, they do not offer the best possible room rates. They work in conjunction with other local hotel room wholesalers. What this means is that most of the biggest online travel agencies like Hotels.com are middle men. And these companies will not offer you the widest selection of hotel options in Bangkok.

How about booking through a hotel company’s website directly?

Again it doesnt’ hurt to check a hotel’s website for room rates. But you’ll find that booking through their website will cost on average 30% to 40% more, compared to an online travel agency.

Where do I go to find hotel deals in Bangkok, Thailand?

The best option is to look for a online hotel reservation company based in Thailand. This way you are going directly to the source for best deals as well as more hotel choices for you to choose.

The reason why Thailand based online travel agencies can provider better rates is because they have offices where local hotels can notify them easily about special rates and promotions. And since they are in the region they are absolutely more knowledgeable about Bangkok hotels then a USA based company like Travelocity.com.

Also it’s good to remember that Thailand’s low season is from late March to early November. During those times you’ll find many hotels throughout Thailand and especially in the city of Bangkok have lowered their rates up to 40%.

Bangkok Short Time Hotels Near Red Light Districts

December 14th, 2009

Short time hotels in Bangkok offer short time rooms for guests who frequent the red light districts. They are found mostly within walking distance to go go bars and of course in areas where Thai freelancers hang out in search of customers. Matter of fact some go go bars even have short time rooms available within the establishment and you’ll find some names here.

All ladies working in the sex industry know where the nearest short time hotels are and they’ll take you there without a problem. So don’t concern yourself about knowing where they are exactly. But it’s always good to know where these places are for future reference.

There are 3 red light districts in Bangkok with short time rooms available for men (and women) to take back someone they’ve bar fined for short time. They come in handy especially when you want privacy or can’t bring a companion back to your hotel.

1. Nana Red Light District

Perhaps the largest sex district by area. The center of adult activity takes place at Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP) or as I like to call it “The Sex Mall”. Men shop for sex here like women shop for shoes. There are 3 floors at NEP and all the short time hotels below charge B300 for 1 hour and condoms here cost B20 – B30 for 1. Best to get your own 3 pack at a 7-Eleven for B40:

  • 3rd floor right next to Cascades (Lady Boy go go bar)
  • 3rd floor next to Carousel go go bar
  • 3rd floor above Hollywood Inn Hotel

2. Soi Cowboy Red Light District

This is the smallest red light district but they have the most go go bars with short time rooms for rent. They charge from B300 to B400 depending on the quality of the room. Again, bring your own condoms. Here a just a few names of go go bars in Soi Cowboy with short time rooms:

  • Baccara
  • Deja Vu
  • Dollhouse
  • Moonshine
  • Midnight Bar

3. Patpong Red Light District

Patpong though largely commercialized still has a popular go go bar scene with the most special activities for gay visitors. Rooms here cost B300 to B400. They charge crazy prices for condoms so again bring your own. Here are a few places in Patpong:

  • Opposite Queen’s Castle 2 go go bar
  • Kangaroo Star of Light (BJ Bar)
  • Super Pussy

An alternative to paying B300 to B400 every time at a short time hotel is to bring your companion back to your hotel. But you have to make sure the hotel you’re staying in has a guest or girl friendly policy. These hotels allow you to bring a bar girl, gay, lady boy or freelancer without charging you a joiner fee. This is important as non girl friendly hotels can charge a B,1000 joiner fee.

Many guest and girl friendly hotels are located in all 3 of the red light districts. In most cases it’s a better choice as most short time hotels are obviously not the cleanest places to rest your head on a pillow. Plus the money you save on renting a room can be spent on more beer and company instead.

For a complete list of no joiner fee hotels visit Bangkok Guest Friendly Hotels.

Where to Find Best Hotel Deals for Bargirl Friendly Hotels in Bangkok

November 4th, 2009

Bangkok’s girl friendly hotels are the obvious choice for visitors who want to visit the red light districts. These hotels don’t charge joiner fees for inviting a companion back to their rooms for short time or overnight stays. But where can you find the best hotel deals in Bangkok.

There are many hotel reservation agencies on the Internet and one of the most well known ones is Agoda.com.  By now you’ve probably come across their website a few times already when you were doing some preliminary hotel searches in Bangkok.

Agoda.com offers many benefits for travelers booking through their website. One of the benefits they are most well known for is the Agoda rewards points program. Whether you book hotels in Bangkok a few times a year or more you’ll earn enough points to qualify for discounts on future hotel reservations.

It’s real easy to enroll in the Agoda rewards. You simply make your first booking and you’re a member and have begun earning points. You get 4% -7% worth of points from the room rates. Book more through Agoda and the points add up quickly and you can eventually use those points for free nights.

What I also like about Agoda is the quick confirmation. You can find out how many rooms are available by simply doing a date search for the specific hotel you’re interested in. If your room choice is available all you have to do is finalize your reservation and print out the confirmation to present to the hotel.

A real treat is you can also earn 500 rewards points just by making a review of the hotel you’ve booked through them.

Agoda.com is a highly reputable choice for travelers who need to find a hotel room quick. They offer competitive room rates as well as special discount offers for many hotels in Bangkok.

Bangkok Discount Hotels – Best Website to Find Thailand Hotel Deals

October 29th, 2009

Finding discount hotels in Bangkok is easy. There are many hotel reservation websites that can help you do that. But which company should you book from? Especially when most of them offer the same cheap hotel rates in Thailand. It’s best to go with a company that offers rewards points like Agoda.com.

Agoda is a familiar name in the Asian hotel marketplace. Run a search on cheap or budget hotels in Bangkok and you will get a search result with Agoda in it. Agoda particularly specializes in hotels in Thailand because they have an office in Bangkok. This is their unique advantage and a reason why they offer the best hotel rates in Thailand. Local and internationally run hotels in Thailand are able to get in touch with Agoda easily to pass on special hotel deals in Thailand to you.

Plus it helps that Agoda is associated with Priceline.com, a major Internet travel agency most are already familiar with.

One of the biggest perks from using Agoda is that they have a best rate guarantee. Chances are you won’t need it since Agoda offers great rates already. But just in case you find a better deal somewhere else Agoda will either match the price or beat it within 48 hours of booking through Aogda.

I also mentioned earlier that Agoda has a rewards points program. You will automatically earn 4% – 7% of the room rate. Once you accumulate 12,500 points it is equ to a $25 USD discount. Save more points and use it to book hotels in the future and you may even get free nights. It’s easy to join Agoda rewards program. Just make your first booking and that’s it.

I’ve been using Agoda for a few years now and I have absolutely no complaints at all. They offer 24/7 customer service and instant room confirmation as well as some of the best rates for hotels in Thailand. All in all this is one completely reliable hotel reservation company worth choosing.

Bangkok Girl Friendly Hotels – Which Website Has the Best Deals?

October 22nd, 2009

I’ve been recommending girl friendly hotels in Bangkok for years to my friends and especially to people who read my articles and blogs about Bangkok’s red light districts. A hotel room is your temporary home. And just like your own home you should be able to invite a companion back to your room without getting hassled for a joiner’s fee.

So who do I recommend for booking girl friendly hotels in Bangkok?

I’ve been recommending Agoda.com because personally when I use them I’ve never had any complaints. Plus they have very competitive hotel room rates for over a thousand hotels all over Thailand. Matter of fact many frequent and seasoned travelers to Bangkok also use Agoda.com because of one really good reason.

Agoda.com rewards you points for booking hotels through their website. You receive about 4% – 7% of the room rates which can really add up, especially if you’re used to staying in luxury girl friendly hotels in Bangkok. You then use your earned points for discounts on future hotel bookings. It’s really easy and free to join Agoda’s rewards program. All you have to do is make one booking and you’re in. There’s no strings attached. It’s just a really good way for them to build customer loyalty. I’ve earned enough points for discounts or free nights easily.

I mentioned that Agoda.com has very competitive rates for hotels in Bangkok. But just in case you do find a better rate on their competitors website, Agoda will either match or beat their price. However this best price guarantee only applies to booking through Agoda and finding a better rate within 48 hours, which is reasonable. And you will not earn any rewards points, which is a real downer.

Agoda.com’s website has a really cool useful interface for your hotel search. There’s an easy to use search function. Another really helpful feature is google maps that shows you exactly where a hotel is as well as other hotel alternatives nearby for you to consider. Then you can read the hotel reviews by previous guests to help you decide where you should stay.

One of the most useful feature is Agoda.com’s instant confirmation ability. You will never have to wait for a reply again to see if a particular hotel has any rooms available. It’s really useful for anyone who’ve just landed in the airport and has a Internet capable phone. You don’t even have to pay with a credit card. Agoda accepts PayPal payments. A much safer alternative for making purchases on the Internet.
